Vietnam's National Assembly passed Cyber-security Law on June 6th 2018 despite several concerns about the Law's potential impacts on Vietnam's economy and the country's international trade commitments. This Cyber-security Law has seven chapters and 43 articles. The Law will come into force on January 1st 2019. Under Vietnam's Cyber-Security Law, internet services providers such as Facebook and Google will face strict requirements such as storing user's data in Vietnam, opening offices in the country and removing inappropriate content at the authority's requests.
